The Main Street Board recently selected Julianne Gasaway as Interim Main Street Dumas Director effective Monday, August 3, 2020.
Sammye Owen, President Main Street Dumas, said, “The Main Street Board of Directors is excited to have Julianne Gasaway as Interim Director. We look forward to working with her during our search for a new Executive Director for Main Street.”
Gasaway stated she is looking forward to working with Main Street Dumas, the community and continuing Main Street events, as well as adding new events and promoting community involvement.
Gasaway, originally from White Hall, currently lives in Star City. She is a graduate of White Hall High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Administration from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2009. She returned to continue her education at UAM in 2011, graduating with a Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2013. She currently works remotely as a School Age Specialist for Save the Children. She has worked at the Star City School District as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher as well as a school counselor.
Gasaway has been a member of the Dumas Women’s Service League for seven years. She has chaired several events and been on several committees for the Women's Service League. She has volunteered at Merry Main Street and at the farmers market. She has been involved with the community through the service league. She has chaired Spirit of Giving, Texas Hold’em Tournament, and the Sweet Shop during Merry Main Street.
