Desha County Judge Wayne Smith (right) administers the Oath of Office to the newly appointed Sheriff Everett Sheriff Everett Cox. Cox was selected by the Quorum Court last Thursday to serve in the role until the end of the year.
The Desha County Quorum Court approved Everett Cox as the temporary replacement for Desha County sheriff during its monthly meeting on May 19, 2026.
