The Chamber announced that 108 businesses and individuals sponsored the event, with more than 100 volunteers helping make the annual community gathering a success.

Man dies from heat-related illness

A 49-year-old Greenwood man has died from a heat-related illness, Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders confirmed Thursday.

Greenwood Leflore Hospital reported the man’s death at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. This is the county’s first confirmed heat-related death in 2026.
