Bethlehem Workshop Center to host VBS Aug. 8th -12th
'Pastor Timothy Jones and the Bethlehem Worship Center church (509 Hwy 65 S in Dumas, AR) invites you to “Vacation Bible School” August 8th-12th at 6:00PM nightly. There will be classes for all ages, games, food, and fun! Our “Back to School Sunday” service will be Sunday, August 13th at 10:30AM. There will be presentations by our Sunshine Band, Purity group, Angels of Praise, as well as a youth panel discussion. Ms. Yolander Brown (K-12 Specialist) will give a motivational speech (“Equipping Students for Academic Success”) and Min. (Coach) Jordan Leeper the morning address (“Maintaining Your Integrity”). Dumas Ballers to host fundraiser basketball tournament
The Dumas Ballers will be hosting their first fundraiser basketball tournament, The South-ern Arkansas Hoopfest.
They will be collaborating with the boys and girls club committee.
They are a nonprofit organization that is working towards building a foundation to help the community youth in social, emotional, educational, and life skill trades.
This event is to help raise money for the construction of a boys and girls club here in Dumas.
They are very pleased and enthused to have the opportunity to be apart of doing something beneficial and positive for a great cause.
They have invited teams from around South Arkansas that have the same love of giving back to help make a difference in their community.

Dumas Ballers to host Fundraiser Cake Sale
The Dumas Ballers will be hosting a fundraiser cake sale September 16, 2023 from 10 am -12 pm.
The Fundraiser will be located in front of the beauty/barbershop (Cindy & Toby Shop on Hwy 65.
Cakes for sale include strawberry cake, chocolate cake, 7up cake, Red Velvet cake, caramel cake, and pound cake. The cakes will cost $25. Cakes can be preordered by purchasing tickets.

Desha County Chapter of the Compassionate Friends to observe 30th Year Anniversary
All parents, grandparents, siblings and family of a deceased child, and supportive friends are invited to join us as we observe 30 years of service to the bereaved community Saturday, August 26, 2023, 4 p. m. Dumas Community Center, 18 Belmont Drive, Dumas. Theme: “30 years of Making a Difference”. There will be a short program followed by a reception.

Da Fade Zone to host free back to school hair cuts
Da Fade Zone Barber shop will be host free back to school hair cuts and donated school supplies August 19 and 20, 2023 at the Da Fade Zone.
Da Fade Zone will be offering back to school hair boy cuts with the possibility of girls styling if available. No registration is required.
Children will also be receiving donated backpacks and school supplies for girls and boys.
This is the second year for the shop to host the event with the purpose of giving back to the community. They held the two hair cutting event in Dumas and McGehee with 64 boys participating.
Entertainment and refreshment will be available for the participating children and families.
The event will include the Dumas Police Department police officers and vendors.
