On Saturday July 22nd at 5:40 pm, Deputies were dispatched to 228 Wolfe Project in regard to a domestic disturbance, involving firearms, and shots being fired, with a subject injured.
Upon arrival Deputies discovered 48 year old Anderson King, who was suffering from multiple gun shots wounds. King was transported to the McGehee Hospital, and later airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock. The female subject at the scene, 48 year old Shandolyn Plummer, was transported to the McGehee Police Department, where she was interviewed by D.C.S.O. Investigators. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division also responded to the scene, and will be assisting Desha County Investigators with the investigation. Plummer was released from custody after questioning. An investigative file, when completed, will be turned over to the Prosecuting Attorney for his review, to see if charges would be forthcoming.
For the month of June Deputies patrolled over 19,000 miles, answered 73 calls for service, conducted 180 property checks, filed 24 reports, served 15 civil and criminal papers, transported 28 prisoners, issued 58 criminal and traffic citations, gave 130 warnings, and made 11 arrests. Sheriff Grant and his Deputies spoke to kids and the McGehee Library, the Dumas Library, and the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Arkansas.
