On 1 July 2022 at approximately 2:13 AM a 911 call came in to McGehee PD from a caller in Reed stating that 3 men had broken into his home, armed with firearms and are..." looking for me, I'm hiding in the closet". Investigator Clint Bradberry arrived a short time later and as he walked up to the carport he observed the door was ajar, the door jamb was busted and could hear someone moaning and saying "help me".
As Bradberry entered the residence he found a black male lying in the kitchen floor, in a pool of blood suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower parts of his body.
Bradberry radioed for an ambulance and went through and "cleared the residence", once certain that the residence was clear he returned to the victim and began rendering aid until paramedics arrived. EMS arrived and transported the victim to an undisclosed hospital.
Investigator Bradberry processed the scene for evidence and located shell casings from at least 2 different firearms and seized other physical evidence. The scene was released to family members once they arrived.
