FORGERY
Dumas Police Department CID Alan Hernandez was dispatched to local Drug Store Thursday, March 31, 2022 at approximately 1:13 pm.
CID Hernandez spoke with the store owner who stated a lady had paid using a fake one hundred dollar bill. The store owner told Hernandez how much the total bill was and that approximately thirty minutes after the transaction took place it was discovered that the bill was fake.
The store owner was advised that a report would be on file.
INFORMATION REPORTER
Dumas Police Department Officer Wayna Green was dispatched to a domestic dispute Sunday, March 27, 2022 at approximately 7:48 pm.
Once on scene, Officer Green spoke with Mrs. Barbara Hughes who stated she had been struck several times by Mr. Ridgel Dewayne. Officer Green was unable to see any signs of injury on Mrs. Hughes.
Green asked Mrs. Hughes if she needed an ambulance and she declined.
Officer Green entered the residence to speak with Mr. Dewayne. He stated he did not put his hands on her and he said she conducts this behavior when she gets upset.
Officer Green advised Mrs. Hughes that officers could not make him leave the residence due to it being his domain for over a year. Green also told Mrs. Hughes that this was not the first time a situation like this had taken place. Inv. Alan Hernandez has also been called to the residence for a similar dispute.
Officer Green advised Mrs. Hughes she could take any report that has been filed in regards to domestic situation between her and Mr. Dewayne to the Court Clerks and file an affidavit.
Mrs. Hughes stated she would take the proper steps Monday to get Mr. Dewayne away from the residence.
Mr. Dewayne was asked if he could stay at a different location until things could cool off and he agreed to stay at a cousin's house.
FINANCIAL IDENTITY FRAUD
Dumas Police Officer Eric Armstrong and Officer Nathan Donaldson took a report from Annette Seahorn Friday, March 18, 2022 concerning missing money.
Seahorn reported that she's had money missing since June 2021 from her unemployment check that she got from the Department of Human Services. She also stated she received letters from California stating she had used the money there. Seahorn stated she has never been to California and that she found out two weeks ago someone has her Social Security Number.
Officer Armstrong advised her a report would be done.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF – 1ST DEGREE, TERRORISTIC THREATENING
Dumas Police CID and School Resource Officer (SRO) Libbett were dispatched to a location on South Oak St. Friday, March 25, 2022 at approximately 3:11 pm.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller.
The caller stated that her neighbor had scratched her car and threatened to harm her.
After getting the suspects information, the officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. However, no one answered the door.
Approximately ten minutes later, Hernandez saw a female leaving the suspects location and was able to identify her. The female was very rude and did not want to cooperate with Sgt. Crystal Martin or SRO Libbett.
Officer advised the reporting party that a report would be on file and she was also advised on how to obtain an affidavit.
POSSESSING INSTRUMENTS OF CRIME, ABSCONDING, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, DRIVING ON SUSPENDED LICENSE, TRAFFIC OFFENSE
Dumas Police Department CID Alan Hernandez conducted a traffic stop Thursday, March 24, 2022 at approximately 7:01 pm, on a silver Chrysler. The car pulled out of the East Waterman area and got on Highway 65 traveling north.
CID Hernandez noticed the vehicle failed to signal and had expired temporary tags (Dec. 2021). Hernandez conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the Family Dollar parking lot.
The driver was identified as Devon Tugman, who had a warrant from ACC on a parole violation.
A hit was sent to ACC and they confirmed that they wanted to place a hold on Tugman. He was arrested and placed in Sgt. Crystal Martin's unit.
The passenger, Alicia Romero (front seat) and Tommy Smith (back seat) were asked to step out and were patted down for officer safety.
Sgt. Martin found green leafy substance and two pipes, commonly used for crack/marijuana, in one of Romero's pockets.
CID Hernandez found a bag with multiple baggies that are commonly used to distribute drugs and a metal pipe that is commonly used to smoke meth in one of Smith's pockets.
Both Romero and Smith were cited and released.
Tugman was transported to Dumas City Jail where he was held for ACC on a PV warrant, Driving on Suspended License, Vehicle Tags expired and No Liability Insurance.
After booking Devon Tugman, Sgt. Martin searched her unit for any items left behind during the arrest and found several items of drug paraphernalia on the floorboard.
As a result, Mr. Tugman was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
COERCION/CAUSE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
The Dumas Police Department received a call from Eric Jones, of North Little Rock, stating his 2017 Black GMC Yukon was shot in the hood on the passengers side, the passenger side fender by the headlight, and the passenger finder liner on March 19, 2022 in Fred's parking lot.
Dumas Police Officer Eric Armstrong notified Jones that a report would be on file.
TERRORISTIC THREATENING, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Dumas Police Officer Carl McCree was dispatched to Dumas PD Saturday, March 19, 2022 at approximately 10:15 pm in reference to shots fired earlier on Matthews parking lot.
Upon arrival, Officer McCree spoke with the reporting party who stated her boyfriend and her were working at a food truck which was set up on the old Matthews service station parking lot located on Highway 65 S. Dumas during the Hood-NIC weekend.
Her boyfriend's Ex girlfriend and two other females pulled up in a black suburban into Matthews parking lot. The ex-girlfriend got out of the front passenger seat and started walking over toward the food truck. The boyfriend met the ex-girlfriend in the parking lot and told her he was not going to sell her any food because his parole officer told him to stay away from her due to an earlier altercation that they had a few months ago. There was reportedly already an active protection order on her and she was advised she needed to leave before the police were called.
She got back in the vehicle on the front passenger side along with the driver and another passenger. When they drove off back onto Highway 65 in front of Matthews, a single handgun shot was fired from the passenger side window, followed by yelling, cussing and threatening to kill someone.
