JANUARY 9TH, 2023 - The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation into a homicide that occurred yesterday at the request of Lake Village Police Department authorities. Jayani L. Jordan, 18, was the victim of an apparent homicide yesterday evening (Sunday, January 8th) while walking in his front yard.
Lake Village Police Officer’s responded to Jordan’s home around 4:15pm yesterday afternoon, after a witness reported a shooting incident at that residence. Jordan was found in his yard shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Jordan’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where a manner and cause of death will be determined.
As of this afternoon, no suspects have been identified and the investigation is continuing. Agents will submit a criminal case file to the Arkansas County prosecuting attorney upon completion of their investigation
