The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting on the 2nd Sunday in December unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren (all children) who have died, but will never be forgotten. The annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone.
Members of the Desha County Chapter of the Compassionate Friends invite you and your family to join with us in the 28th Year World-wide Candle lighting Remembrance, Sunday, December 8, 2024, 6 p.m at the Dumas Community Center, 18 Belmont Drive, Dumas, Arkansas.
A short program of greetings, readings, poems, music and candlelight ceremony will be presented. At 7 p.m. participants will light candles in memory of all our children gone too soon . . . that their light will always shine. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony. Supportive friends are also invited to attend this event. There is no admission. Donations are appreciated.
Those who would like to have their child’s name placed on the memorial roll, or picture placed on the memorial display may contact us at one of the numbers below.
If you plan to attend, please let us know by December 4. To RSVP or for more information, text to or call one of these numbers: 870-866-6985, 870-377-4299 or 870-222-7836.
