The Desha County Chapter of The Compassionate Friends will hold its annual “Walk to Remember” on Saturday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 7 a.m. at the Dumas Community Center.
The community is invited to join in honoring the memories of children who have died and to celebrate 33 years of service to bereaved families.
All parents, grandparents, and siblings of a deceased child, as well as supportive friends, family members, churches, and organizations, are invited to participate. Together, participants will walk to remember children gone too soon and help support bereaved families as they journey through grief.
Participants may wear a Compassionate Friends T-shirt or a T-shirt honoring their loved one.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. Following the walk, there will be a short program and a light breakfast in observance of the chapter’s 33 years of service.
