July 3rd- July 9th
On 7/5/2023 Deputy Wayna Green was patrolling the McGehee area when he made a traffic stop on Sherman Street, on a 2014 impala, driven by Derrick Devine of McGehee. After Devine pulled over, Deputy Green smelled an odor of intoxicates emitting from the vehicle. Devine then fled the scene in his vehicle. As Deputy Green pursued Devine, the pursuit lead on to Highway 4. After being joined my McGehee Police Units, a rolling roadblock was performed, to safely end the pursuit. Devine was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Devine was found to had two outstanding felony warrants, and multiple misdemeanor warrants from McGehee. In addition to the warrants, Devine was booked for Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest, and fleeing in a vehicle. Devine has bonded out on all charges.
On 7/8/2023 Deputy Wayna Green was patrolling on Highway 165 west of Back Gate, when he encountered a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Deputy Green initiated a traffic stop on a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, that was being driven by 35 year old Dealexander Robinson of Marvell. Upon making contact with Robinson Deputy Green smelled the odor of intoxicants emitting from the vehicle. After administering Field Sobriety Tests to Robinson, as Deputy Green attempted to place him under arrest, Robinson became combative and began to resist. Deputy Green was able to gain control of Robinson and get him in the back seat of his patrol unit. Robinson was transported to the Dumas City Jail, where he remained combative with Deputy Green. Robinson was eventually charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to a breath Test, Disorderly Conduct, and Battery III on a Law Enforcement Officer.
On 7/9/2023 Deputy Wayna Green was patrolling Highway 165 near Oakwood Bayou, when he observed a vehicle cross the center line. Deputy Green initiated a traffic stop on a 2015 Nissan Rogue, that was being driven by 41 year old Yuliana Chavez of Dumas. After performing field sobriety tests on Chavez, Deputy Green placed her under arrest and transported her to the Dumas City Jail. Once at the jail Chavez slipped one hand out of the handcuffs, and began striking Deputy Green in the face, causing minor injuries. Chavez was then transported to a women’s detention center at the Sheridan City Jail, where she was booked for Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to submit to a breath test, Battery II on a Law Enforcement Officer, No Insurance, and Careless/Prohibited Driving. Chavez is currently waiting for a first appearance bond hearing.

James Preston Sledge- Parole Revocation for Escape 3rd Degree and Residential Burglary (12 years)
Roy Owens Jr- Murder 2nd Degree (10 years)
Lamon Petty- Break or Entering and Theft of Property (4 years)
