DAT-C is Digital Arts Technology College Network and is a program of The College of Aspiring Artists based in Little Rock and Dumas.
The DAT-C online campus will be streaming special programs under the theme, “Silence is Not an Option” for the 65th commemoration of Central High School’s desegregation by the Little Rock Nine.
Sessions begin September 22, and end on September 25, will cover a diverse range of issues including mental health and wellness, equity in education, and the criminal justice system.
“This is a powerful subject and people across the nation and the world will be tuning in to these sessions. Too long have many been silent when our voices needed to be heard. From Dumas to DC, we have voices that truly matter and we must be heard. Beyond the pandemic, more from our DAT-C vision will be advanced. We are happy to be an institutional partner here in Dumas to both share in person and online these meaningful lessons and historic moments. These are program and institutional partnerships that we are grateful to bring from Dumas for our students, educators and persons in our city and across the state,” stated Rev. Arthur L. Hunt, Jr., who is overseeing the special program partnerships.
Rev. Stephon Ferguson will speak as in the person of Rev. Dr. King on Thursday, September 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Dr. Stephon Ferguson travels across the United States and internationally breathing life into the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His mission is to help continue the legacy of Dr. King by educating people about his philosophy of love, peace, and equality.
