Theft of Public Benefits $500 or less
On January 13th, 2026 at approximately 4:30 PM, Sgt Crystal Martin was dispatched to Family Dollar in reference of Theft. Upon arrival, She made contact with a . Ms. Canady stated someone used her EBT card without permission on January 12 at approximately 4:07 pm. Martin spoke with the Family Dollar manager who reviewed the footage.
Ms. Canady identified the person in the video who used the card. Ms. Canady stated she believed the person obtained her card information and pin number when they went to Cash's Travel Plaza earlier in the day at approximately 12:00 am then they went to Exxon. The person purchased $37.20 worth of merchandise. Martin advised Ms. Canady a report will be on file and how to obtain an affidavit.
Shoplifting $1,000 or less
On January 19, 2026 at 2:22 pm Officer Rashad Nalls and Officer Rose Weathers were dispatched to the Family Dollar Store. The store manager Angelia Harris called and reported that someone was in the store putting merchandise in her pockets.
Upon arrival to the Family Dollar Store, Ms. Harris was on the sidewalk pointing South, saying there she is. Officer Weathers observed a person walking South on Highway 65 in front of The House of Lee Restaurant then started walking onto the car wash property.
Weathers quickly drove to the car wash to make contact with the female who I know as identified as the suspect. Weathers pulled up to her, but she kept walking as though to try and avoid her. Weathers then drove up beside her again and asked her to just stop and talk to me, she stopped.
Weathers asked if she had anything on her that she took from Family Dollar without paying for it. She said no at first. The officer then said all they want is their merchandise back and for them to stay out of the store from here on. She gave the officer a 6 pack of Bic Lighters that she retrieved from a left pocket on the inside of her jacket. Weathers then pat her down for other items, none were found.
The suspect also had a Warrant and was given a Court Date of February 03, 2026, per the Sheriff's office. The merchandise was returned to the Family Dollar Manager, Ms. Harris.
Information Report
On January 30, 2026 I was dispatched to West Waterman Street for a phone that had been lost. When Officer Nathan Donaldson arrived he spoke with Phone Owner who stated she had left her phone at the comer store on Waterman and S. Ash St. The phone was last pinged at W. Waterman St, Donaldson went and attempted to make contact. No contact was made, He then went to the corner store and attempted to retrieve video. The owner stated that he had no video, Donaldson then advised the Phone Owner a report would be on file.
Vicious Dog
On January 21st, 2026 at approximately 5:45 pm, Sgt. Crystal were dispatched to 704 E Waterman Street in reference of a vicious dog.
Upon arrival, Sgt Martin made contact with a Complainant and he stated his neighbor across the street black dog got out of their fence and charged at him trying to bite.
As I was speaking with the Complainant , the neighbor pulled into the driveway. The Complainant stated he used a tool to strike at the dog and the dog took off running. Officer Hardy arrived on scene and they spoke with the Neighbor. They advised the Neighbor tha her black dog got out and tried to attack the neighbor.
Dog Catcher Helen Casteneda also arrived on scene. The Neighbor stated she did not know the dog got out and it's her brother dog. Officer Hardy stated she observed the dog on Choctaw and Patrick Drive.
The Neighbor got in her vehicle to locate the dog. As they was trying to locate the dog, Ms. Casteneda stated by radio that she found the dog on Waterman and John street. Officer Martin arrived on scene and observed the Neighbor putting the dog in the van.
The Neighbor been advised to keep the dog secured no matter who dog it is since its in their possession. Officer Hardy advised to Martin that the dog is vicious. Hardy stated she had to push Ms. Casteneda to the side because the dog was coming at her aggressively. Hardy stated The Neighbour got an attitude when Hardy started to pull her weapon on the dog for protection, saying the dog don't know them that's why he reacted that way. The Complainant was advised of his steps to protect himself and his kids if need be.

On January 30, 2026, Aperson was attempting to back out of a parking space when his rear bumper hit the front bumper of another vehicle causing damage.
