The Dumas Special School District Board of Education voted on administration recommended approval for revised classified salary schedule for the 2023/ 2024 school year.
The revised classified salary will increase the salary of each classified position by 3%. The schedule is enclosed in the official minutes. Heath Moncrief made a motion to approve the salary schedule, Marcus Croom seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The board voted to adopt the minutes of the regular meeting held April 25, 2023. Heath Moncrief made the motion and seconded by Nelson Crow. The motion passed.
The board entered into executive session at approximately 6:09 PM. Board President, Alan K. Minor reconvened meeting at approximately 6:32 PM with no action taken.
Nelson Crow made a motion on the Zone 4 Board Appointee and seconded by Heath Moncrief to appoint Marcus Croom to Zone 4 due to receiving no votes in the school board election held by early votes or absent ballot. The motion carried unanimously.

Heath Moncrief made a motion to accept the administration recommendations, Nelson Crow seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
SEARK Co-op: Board Resolution Administration presented a resolution to appoint Dr. Sterrett the Southeast Arkansas Cooperative Education Board. Jared McDonald made a motion to approve the resolution as presented, Heath Moncrief seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.
K-12 Culinary Contract: Renewal Administration recommended approval of K-12 Culinary RFP/Contract for the 2023/2024 school year. Heath Moncrief made a motion to adopt the program as presented, Marcus Croom seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
23/24 School Improvement: Plans Jared McDonald made a motion to approve the School Improvement Plans as presented, Marcus Croom seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Revised 2023/2024 School Calendar: Administration presented changes to the 2023/2024 district calendar that showed the number of instructional days corrected from the initial calendar that was approved in January. The calendar is enclosed in official minutes. Jared McDonald made a motion to approve the revised calendar for the 2023/2024 school year, Marcus Croom seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Pinnacle Point Service Agreement: Administration recommended using Pinnacle Behavioral Healthcare for mental health services for the 2023/2024 school year. Administration accepted the recommendation as presented. Heath Moncrief made a motion, seconded by Nelson Crow, and motion carried unanimously.
District Credit Cards: Heath Moncrief made a motion to approve the credit card statements as presented, Marcus Croom seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Budget/Financial: Reports Were presented to the board for review.
Superintendent Report: The Superintendent requested permission to hire hard to staff or emergency personnel as per personnel policy.Heath Moncrief made a motion to accept the Superintendent’s request Jared McDonald seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
