I’m neither a Democrat nor a Republican, I’m an American Newspaper Man
Just for the record, I am neither a Democrat or a Republican, I’m a life long old school newspaper man who tries to stay neutral.
You may think I’m not neutral when I write or print articles about the Trump administration. Hold your judgment until all the truth comes out, you may be surprised. History, which it seems is under attack these days, is being rewritten to fit whatever agenda is popular at the time. But history has a way of repeating itself.
However, crime, dishonesty and so forth will be written about with no regards of race, color, gender, political party or any other affiliation.
I don’t follow the popular crowd, never have. I’ve been in the newspaper business for over 40 years. I’ve seen a lot of crazy things covering everything from politics, to state and local government.
As a newspaper editor I was in the middle of the madness that occurred at the little Mena Airport years ago, where our military personnel loaded guns on transport planes during the night. You may remember that event in history. Several people died that were involved in that mess. Many that I knew very well. Some of the people involved still sit in their houses, armed, fearing for their lives. They made a movie about what happened there.
I will always be your friend, however, if somethings happens in any municipal office, police department, sheriff’s office, state government that I find to be dishonest, criminal or not, I will write about what transpired. That’s journalistic integrity.
In my few months in Dumas at the Clarion, I’ve met some very good, people, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know so many of you. I will continue to listen when you talk, listening to your stories. That’s my job. After a lifetime of writing about people, it still amazes me, that folks can’t look at both sides of an issue, you agree with them or you are their enemy.
That’s sad my friends. How have we come to this place in time?
There are church walls because people are unable to agree on the things of God.
Sadly those walls have caused division since the first church in New Testament times.
Yes, together we can make America Great Again, but if we allow division to rule, we will eventually fade away.
