The JOAT Podcast will be hosting a Fall Festival at the Delta Memorial Park Saturday, October 23, 2021.
The festival is a family oriented event that starts with a 5K Fun run at 9 am and vendors and activities starting at 10 am. The day will include hay rides, Fall picture booth, face painting, a variety games for younger and older children, prizes, live music (bring your chairs and blankets), concession, lemonade stand, live stream of Razorbacks vs. Golden Lions, and lots of candy.
The games will include pumpkin-themed games and an interactive hayride where they can pick a pumpkin to decorate. The hay ride will cost $3 and tickets for games will be $1 each or $10 for a wristband to play all day. The live music will be performed by Jacob Flores, a former American Idol contestant and an award-winning one-man band from 2-3 pm.; upcoming Country Artist Bodey Jackson from Cabot, AR playing from 3:30-4:30; and Platinum Hits, a live Soul band will perform until 6 pm.. Anyone can sign up for the free 5K run, participants need to register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fall-festival-5k-fun-runwalk-tickets . There is a $20 fee to the 5k with a shirt as a souvenir.
Jackson is asking community businesses to hand out candy to children. Anyone interested can sign up for a retail booth or to hand-out candy have until the morning of the festival with vendors needing to be there no later than 10 am to set up their booth. “We want this to be a community event where everyone comes out to have a good time, enjoy some good festival food, ride a hayride, and bring their kids. It is a family oriented event,” Jackson said.
They will also have hand-washing stations, hand sanitizer stations, have masks available, and ask people to wear masks and social distance if it is their choice.
Jackson started the Jack of All Trades Podcast in 2020 and started posting in March of 2021. He records the podcast with his cousins Gabriel Toney and Stedman Madden. The purpose of the podcast is to bring light to the people and city of Dumas. They will be recording a new hometown hero featuring Rick Helton. Jackson was born and raised in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 2009. He currently works as a Logistics NCO for the Army National Guard at Camp Robinson and lives in Ward, AR.
