In December 2021, Dr. Jacqueline Denise McGehee, a 1990 graduate of Dumas High School, completed the Executive PhD Program in Urban Education and Leadership from Jackson State University.
The proud mother of two beautiful children, Dr. McGehee dedicates her degree and hard work to her mom Doris L. McGehee. She is the daughter of David L. McGehee Sr., and the late Doris L. McGehee.
Dr. McGehee completed her bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in Christian Education at Arkansas Baptist College. She earned a Master’s degree in Library Science at the Texas Woman’s University, as well as earned a 2nd Masters of Health Administration at Webster University.
Dr. McGehee currently serves as the Library Director and a Professor at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock. She recently authored a successful Curtis H. Sykes Memorial Grant administered by the Black History Commission of Arkansas.
Dr. McGehee has received several professional certifications including certification for the Center for Teaching and E- Learning and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She serves on numerous professional committees, which includes the HBCU Library Alliance Committee, as well as the HBCU Open Educational Resources Library Curator. She manages the Government Documents for the JC Oliver Library and is also rebuilding and creating an archive. Dr. McGehee also directs the Alkebulan History Center under the direction of Dr. Leonard Porter, an alumnus of Arkansas Baptist College.
In love with her dear old Alma Mater, Dr. McGehee serves as the President of the Arkansas Baptist College Local Alumni Chapter.
