DUMAS, Ark. — A community Field Party and Trail Ride is scheduled to take place in Dumas, offering a full day of entertainment, family activities, and live music Saturday, April 18 from 12 -8 pm.
The event will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the intersection of North Walnut and Cherry Street, next to the New City Shop. Gates will open at noon.
Organizers say rapper Fredo Bang will perform live at 5 p.m. Activities will include sack races, face painting, free horse rides for children, bouncy houses, and a variety of food trucks. Guided horse rides will also be available. The event is open to all ages and is designed to be family-friendly.
The trail ride portion will allow both horses and 4-wheelers. Participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to riding.
Event sponsor Nick Thomas, of Little Rock, said safety measures have been coordinated with city officials. Private security will be on site, and all vehicles entering the event will be searched. The Desha County Sheriff’s Department will assist with security outside the main event area.
“It's going to be a real nice event for the community,” said organizer Michael Ross.
Organizers expect attendees from across the region to travel to Dumas for the event. The event is hosted by Nick Thomas, Christian Washington, Dunna Davis, Khanesha Kaye, and Anthony Newman.
Tickets are $20 for adults, while children will be admitted free. Due to the outdoor setting, event times may vary in the case of weather delays, with possible adjustments between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
