NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
PRO HOUSING GRANT FUNDS
A public hearing will be held on September 23 at 6 p.m. at Dumas City Hall for the purpose of identifying and prioritizing the community needs of the City of Dumas, determining whether an application for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development PRO Housing funds should be developed and if so, for what the community needs. Also, comments on proposed project activities will be discussed, especial.ly those with possible impacts ,on the community, should the project receive funding.
Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) supports communities who are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing, such as:
● Barriers caused by outdated zoning, land use policies, or regulations;
● Inefficient procedures;
● Gaps in available resources for development;
● Deteriorating or inadequate infrastructure;
● Lack of neighborhood amenities; or
● Challenges to preserving existing housing stock such as increasing threats from natural hazards, redevelopment pressures, or expiration of affordability requirements.
Residents of the City of Dumas are encouraged to attend the hearing and participate in the community development process. The City of Dumas and Communities Unlimited will provide technical assistance in developing proposals by groups representing low and moderate-income persons.
