AN ORDINANCE
ASSESSING A 5 MILL TAX AGAINST THE REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF DUMAS FOR THE TAXABLE YEAR 2021.
BE IT ORDAINED B Y THE C I TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUMAS:
SECTION 1. That a tax of 5 Mills on the Dollar is hereby levied by the City of Dumas for the Year 2021 payable in 2022.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance be delivered by the City Clerk to the County Clerk of Desha County, Arkansas whose duty is and shall be to extend said assessments made against the property with the City of Dumas. This ordinance will be full force and in effect from and after its passage and publication.
THEREFORE, IT IS DECLARED that an emergency exists and this Ordinance, as it pertains to the 5 Mill Tax against the real and personal property tax for the taxable year 2021 being necessary in order to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Dumas, shall be in force and in effect immediately.
