Serendipity Auction to be held Oct. 23
The Desha County Museum and Dumas Business Women will be hosting their annual Serendipity Benefit Auction Monday, October 23, 2023 from 6-9 pm at the Dumas Community Center.
The Silent Auction will be held from 6-6:45 p.m. the Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm and the Live Auction will start at 7:15 pm,
The meal will be catered by The Redneck Gourmet and the auctioneer will be Orrell Auctions.
Tickets are $30 add can be purchased from any museum or DBW member.

City of Dumas Closed for Columbus Day
The City of Dumas will be closed on Monday, October 9, in observance of Colum-bus Day.
No Trash will be collected.
The Dumas City Council meeting is moved to Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 6 pm in the council meeting room at 6 pm.
The Budget meeting will be held at 5:30pm in the conference room.

Mt. Zion MBC to host Fall revival
The Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting their Fall Revival Monday-Friday October 9-13, 2023 at the Dumas Singing Center 7 pm nightly.
Pastor Donyardo Wallace, of Kindley Star of Moscow will be providing the message Monday and Tuesday. Pastor Jesse Emerson, of St. Peter's Rock, will be providing the message Wednesday and Thursday and Pastor P.C. Holley, pastor of Mt. Zion will be speaking Friday. Everyone is invited to attend.

Desha County burn ban lifted
Desha County Judge Richard Tindall
As of Thursday, October 5, 2023, the Desha County Burn Ban has been lifted. Due to the extremely dry conditions and subsequent high fire danger, Desha County Judge has placed Desha County under a temporary burn ban pursuant to County Court Order effective at 0700 AM 08/24/2023. All outdoor fires are prohibited during this time. Once we receive appreciable rainfall and conditions improve, the ban will be reevaluated. Outdoor cooking, such as gas and charcoal grills are not subject to this action.

Traveler’s Rest Church to host Fall Revival
The Traveler’s Rest Church of Grady will be starting their fall revival Monday- Friday October 16-20, 2023 starting at 7 pm nightly.
The speaker for the week will be Pastor Willard Blackmon, pastor of Love Fellowship House of Praise of McGehee. Everyone is in invited to attend. Minister Bruce Johnson is pastor.
