Winrock International continued the RPIC Arkansas Delta Rhythm & Bayou Placement Initiative with over a dozen community members in attendance September 14, 2023.
Jaylin Sprout called the meeting in order to finish up the asset map and to determine how resources are being used in the community. The organization is working on planning for community capital, project development and design, grant writing and grant management.
Sprout collected information on built capital, community capital, natural capital and social capital. She received feedback on areas that were under utilized or showed a lot of community activity. They also discussed ideas for future activities.
The agenda for the meeting included community updates; expanding on community capitals and how well they are used; Winrock updates, and information on Seed Grant RFP. On September 25, 2023, there will be a Connected Nation Virtual meeting at the Dumas City Hall Council Chambers at 2:30 pm. Connected Nation will be ready to share their final findings from the broadband assessment.
The meeting also identified several areas that once the data is collected they will know more on how to continue to improve the community such as EPIC suite of assessment that needs to be completed; community surveys and engagements; existing programs or services in the area and community strengths and assets
