The 2nd annual Dumas Fall Festival will have something for everyone, one with a variety of activities, live music, vendors and more at the Dumas Memorial Park October 15, 2022.
The JOAT Podcast organized the first free community event that began in 2021 with an average of 500 people attending and over a dozen vendors. This year's festival will include Color 5K Run/Walk, a county wide motorcycle poker run, a classic car show, live music throughout the day, and over 50 fall themed games and activities like a corn maze, pumpkin painting, hay rides, and horseback riding.
Louis Jackson said they also need volunteers to help set up the event and to make sure everything runs smoothly.
“While the event is an all day event, volunteers can come and go as their schedules permit! We will be on the grounds Friday and Saturday and could use as many hands as we can get! Let’s make #dumasfallfest2022 the best,” Jackson said.
The events include:
8 am: A Color 5K Run & Walk. The run will begin and finish at the Dumas First United Methodist Church. An awards ceremony will be held following the run at Memorial Park at 10:30 am. The event is sponsored by the Dumas First United Methodist Church Youth. Participants can register until the start of the run. Free T-shirts and Medals will be available for the first 100 participants.
10 am: Live Music in the Park will include performances by Jacob Flores, Kenneth Wiley Jr. performing on the saxophone, Madison Merritt, Greg Whaley, Cover artist G Pace and The On Call Band.
10 am: The Children's game of 50 fall themed games and activities will be open to the public.
10 a.m.- Vendors will need to set up their booths from 7:45 to 9 am. The booths will be open to the public at 10 am following the opening prayer and the welcome. Vendors include Sincerely Yours Décor LLC, RJs Place, Pioneros Unido, Hibachill, Mitch Grant, Arkansas Army National Guard, Cox Creek Pet Supply, Arkansas Rural Health Partnership, Purple W.I.N.G.S. Counseling Services, Republican Party of Desha County, Phoenix Youth & Family Services, Inks N Threads, Delta Memorial Hospital, Arkansas Department of Corrections, D&D's Candy Jar, Serenity Gardens Funeral Service, Desha County Democratic Party, Southern Twist Catering, Representative Monte Hodges, Shirley Kozubski, Radha Houzz, Purple Moon Shenanigans, Friends of John H Johnson Museum, Phonzies 1 Stop Hog Shop, Loving Nutrition, Dumas Fire Department, Leaf Filter, Tupperware by Paula, Desha County Tax Collector, and Desha County Clerk's Office.
10 am – 2 pm: A Classic Car Show, sponsored by Tony Gillespie, will be held at the park and anyone who wishes to participate will need to contact Louis Jackson at 870-377-5612 or thejoatent@gmail.com to register. Participants can enter their cars the day of the event and judging will be held at 2 pm.
10 am – 2:30 pm County Wide Poker Run: Bring your motorcycle club and join the county wide poker run. The best hand wins and the pot goes to the winner. Participants can play individually or in groups not exceeding 10 people. The participating Bikers will collect their cards at 5 stations located within the county. The entry fee is $20. Participants can register at the festival. The event is hosted by the Low Rider-M/C of Pine Bluff, AR.
12 pm: Robert Miller , also known as Mr. Fastlife Bomb Threat, will be at the festival with his vehicles, greeting fans, signing merchandise and taking pictures.
12 pm: The “Down of the Farm Team Challenge” is a team competitions that will a Hay Bale Relay and Stack, Nuts & Bolt Dirt Dive, Slop the Hogs, Round Bale Roll, Pie Eating Contest, Pumpkin Seed Spitting Contest, Best “ On the Farm” team attire and more. The event is for Jr. and High School students. The grand prize is $500. Teams must provide a $10 team registration fee with a list of team captain and participants to reserve their spot. Food Vendors and Food Trucks will include the Hibachill food truck, Southern Twist Catering, Radha Houzz, and Phonzie's 1 Stop Hog stop.
