The Dumas City Council held a Special Called meeting to consider three bids submitted to clean up the old Dollar General site, located on Highway 54, selecting Richard Pambianchi Construction Company Monday, January 31, 2022.
The City plans to build the new City of Dumas Maintenance building on the site.
Two bids were to clean up the building site and one bid was to clean up the entire lot.
Council members discussed the three bids and considered issues such as: what equipment would be used; the cost of the equipment and the number of hours and days it would take each bidder to complete the project
Mayor Flora Simon said the completion date to clean up the area was as quickly as possible to get ready for the arrival of the building materials needed for the project.
Track Hoes and trucks from Desha County will be available to assist with removal of debris. City workers will also be available when the work begins throughout the day.
Councilmember John Owen made the motion to accept Pambianci's bid and it was seconded by Diane Fisher. The motion was approved with one councilmember absent.
