The Dumas Special School District accepted the Administration recommendations to accept two resignations and the hiring of a Middle Level Paraprofessional at Dumas Junior High School Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Board President Alan K. Minor called the meeting to order at 6:01 PM, followed by the roll call, which verified three board members were present, thereby constituting a quorum, and the meeting was convened.
Upon the recommendation of the Administration, the following actions were presented:
Resignation:
*LeShana Bethune – Second Grade Teacher at Central Elementary School, effective October 7, 2021.
*Darrin Kidd – Physical Education Teacher at Reed Elementary School and Bus Driver, October 4, 2021.
Employment:
*Gwendolyn Williams – Middle Level Paraprofessional at Dumas Junior High School.
Extra Duty/Stipend:
*Jack Hill – Full Route Bus Driver.
Jared McDonald made a motion to accept the recommendations. The motion was seconded by Heath Moncrief and passed unanimously.
Administration recommended approval of the 2022 Six-Year Facilities Master Plan.
Heath Moncrief made a motion to accept the resolution. Jared McDonald seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Administration presented the 2022 School Election Resolution selecting May 24, 2022 as the date for next year's school board election to be filed with the Desha County Clerk's Office.
Jared McDonald made a motion to accept the recommendation. The motion was seconded by Heath Moncrief and passed unanimously.
Administration presented the 2022 School Board Zone Resolution stating that Dumas School District will elect its board members from five (5) single member district zones in accordance with the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Jared McDonald made a motion to accept the resolution. The motion was seconded by Heath Moncrief and passed unanimously.
