Katlynne Michelle Dunn of McGehee and Tyler Anthony Gillespie of Dumas were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony the morning of May 15, 2021 at Selma Methodist Church.
Rev. Rick Sellers of Forest, Mississippi performed the ceremony; the reverend was the groom's former youth pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dumas. Music was provided by the pianist Noah McClay of Dumas, former student of the groom. Clay Cooper, cousin of the bride from Jonesboro, served as usher for the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Mark Dunn of McGehee. She is the granddaughter of Mary Johnson and the late Jimmy C.Cooper of McGehee, and also the granddaughter of Jeffery F.Dunn and the late Mary Lea Dunn of Dermott.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.Tony Allen GIllespie of Dumas. He is the grandson of Debbie and Don Pennington and the late Haltom Gillespie of Dumas, and also the grandson of the late Jim Adams and the late Joyce Miller.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a Mori Lee Bridal Gown with stunning off the shoulder long sleeved bodice with satin covered buttons, accented in frosted imported French Alençon lace and embroidered appliqués that cascade onto the Tulle Ball Gown skirt. An intricate illusion back and wide scalloped hemline sweeping around the cathedral train. The gown was covered with embossed seed pearls and iridescents. The bride also wore a long blusher veil with crystals. The bride wore gold and crystal earrings with a gold pearl and diamond drop necklace from her late grandmother. The gown and veil were from Low’s Bridal in Brinkley, AR. Alterations were done byJoyce Keelingof Rohwer, AR.
The bride had a half-up braid, embellished by live baby’s breath flowers throughout the braid. Hair and makeup for the bride, the maid of honor, the mother of the bride, and the mother of the groom was done by Danielle Fowler of Vilonia, AR.
The bride carried a bouquet of flowers made up of magnolias, eucalyptus, baby’s breath, pine, and assorted greenery. Accompanying the bouquet were her father’s and mother’s wedding rings, draped around the stems of the bouquet with her nana’s diamond and pearl wedding necklace. All floral arrangements, bridal bouquet, Maid of honor's bouquet, and boutineers were made by Flowers and Gifts by William of Dumas, AR.
The groom was dressed in crisp white shirt, light tan dress pants, dusty rose suspenders, floral bow-tie, and pink rose boutonniere.
Tony Gillespie, father of the groom, served as best man. Mary Rebekah Dunn, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She wore a floor length dusty rose dress.
A reception was held following the ceremony. The wedding cake and cupcakes were made by Brenda Reeves of McGehee. Wedding cookies were made and decorated by Brooke Dupwe of McGehee, former classmate of the bride. Wedding photographer was Baylee Lamb Free with Be Free Photography.
After the ceremony, the couple caught a flight and honeymooned in Orlando, Florida, where they enjoyed a week at Walt Disney World. The couple will live in North Little Rock.
Rehearsal Dinner
On Friday, May 14, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gillespie entertained the wedding party and family members after the wedding rehearsal. The rehearsal dinner commenced at the Hoots BBQ & Steaks restaurant in McGehee, AR. A great time was had by all.
