The August 6, 2022 Bobcat Fan Day was a hit. On the same day last year, the football team was just getting together for their first summer practice. Today they celebrated the end of almost 2 months of hard work, in preparation for the upcoming season.
The community showed up to support their Bobcat Football team at the 2022 Fan Day. There was music, radio interviews, a performance by the cheerleaders, as well as free bottled water, hot dogs, freeze pops and watermelon.
Head Coach Antonio Lovelady said that it is “about the kids” and “bringing out the community,” he is also planning on “making Fan Day an annual event.”
Earlier this summer the coaching staff hosted a “Women's Football Clinic” where mothers of the players were invited to come meet the coaches and learn some key terms related to football, as well as referee signals and more.
The town has shown huge support for the Bobcats; and the team is working hard and doing more than in past years to earn their support. Along with 6 am practices all summer, the team scrimmaged against teams like; Defending 6A State Champion El Dorado, 4-time 7A State Champion Bryant and Camden Fairview. In preparation for the 2022 season.
