Beyond the mass shooting in Dumas on March 19, 2022, killing one person and leaving 27 injured, we are guided to bring a prayer moment and a “6M Huddle” to Dumas, Arkansas for healing, hope, love and unity. The 6M Huddle was inaugurated on MLK Holiday, January 17, 2022, and documented as: ‘MLK—The Mayors, The Ministers, The Murders, The Masses, The Movement.’
The prayer service and announcement was held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 3 pm at the location of the shooting, 611 Hwy 65 South, Dumas, Arkansas. The prayers and work move from Dumas to Little Rock at a special “MyMovement” Forum at the Mosaic Templars on April 2, 2022. It will be the 55th Anniversary weekend of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Organizers included: The Legacy Center in West Dumas, is the lead organizer with joint support from the National Day of Prayer Task Force, Arkansas Faith First Responders, The College of Aspiring Artists and AR REDI who stand for love and non-violence for Dumas and all across Arkansas. We stand in the spirit of the prophet, Habakkuk and look to God to see what He will say.
Beyond Dumas, we will travel the state with this 6M Huddle, knowing God will hear us, heal us and guide us to godly and peaceable lives. Not a Day of Prayer, but a year-long plus engagement to see the problems and work bring remedy from Dumas across the Delta. #ALLOFARKANSASUNITED
