Pearl McMurtry Irvin, 79 of Star City, Arkansas and formerly of Pickens, Arkansas passed away March 14, 2021. Born May 8, 1941 in Branch, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late, George and Crickett Scott McMurtry. She married Joe Irvin on September 1, 1956 in Dumas, Arkansas. Her parents, husband, Joe Irvin, Sr and son, Joe Elton Irvin, Jr, four brothers, Buford, Donald, Virgil and Ray McMurtry and sister, Eula McMurtry Corbell, all preceded her in death.
Pearl was fifty plus year member of First Assembly of God Church in Dumas and Women’s Auxiliary Assembly of God Church. Pearl retired from Mad Butcher and had previously worked at Bassett, and a homemaker.
Survivors are her daughter, Karen (Keith) Butcher, two brothers, George “Junior” (Jeanette) McMurtry of Paris, Arkansas and John McMurtry of Wichita, Kansas and a special niece, Pam (James) McIver of Decatur, Arkansas, daughter in law, Janice Driscoll of Florida, six grandchildren, Jonathan Irvin, Alesia Ethridge both of Star City, Patrick Butcher of Dumas, Angelica (Corey) Butcher of Hot Springs, Andre (Lea), and Michael (Heidi) Karpowich all of Florida, eleven great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation held from 5 – 7 PM, Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services held at 2 PM, Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Walnut Lake Cemetery with Rev. Scott Gilbreth officiating.
