Takyra Williams-Hampton is a 4th grade teacher at Reed Elementary. Takyra has been teaching for 12 years, with 6 years in the Dumas School District. Her parents are Guy Williams and the late JaNelle Miles-Williams. Takyra is married to Joshua Hampton and together they have three sons, Braylon, Jeremey, and Jace. She also has a special daughter, Zycria. Most of her childhood was spent in Grady, Arkansas, where she was raised by her grandparents, Mr. JC and Jearlene Williams. She is a proud member of the Macedonia M.B. Church.
She graduated from Grady High School and went on to gain her B.S. degree from the Univer-sity of Arkansas at Pine Bluff majoring in Early Childhood Education P-4. She received her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and completed a Program of Study in Curriculum and Instruc-tion from Harding University.
Hampton has always had a love for education and children. She believes that the first step in educating someone is building relationships. When a child leaves her class, the one thing she wants them to know is that she genuinely cared about what they learned but most importantly she cared about who they are and who they become.
