Teachers in the Dumas School District will receive the remainder of a raise for the 1990-91 school year in their last paycheck, following a vote by the Dumas School Board last night.
Dumas Area Arts council has made final plans for its day-for-the-arts-in-the-park scheduled for Saturday, June 1. The event will involve the Council's four arts disciplines.
Spiritedly singing "Voices that Care" and clapping enthusiastically, children in the second grade at Central Elementary School saluted veterans in a Friday program.
The skit, written and directed by Miles Fish, was planned by second grade teachers Lola Harris, Christina Rainey, Kay Canada and Mary Moore.
Dr. Thomas Lewellen who was recently selected as Dumas' Doctor of the Year, was presented a plaque commemorating his achievement by Delta Memorial Hospital Administrator Howard Johnson. Lewellen is a native of Dumas and a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Thon benefit for St. Jude collecting $737.50.
Planning for the seventh "Grand Golden Reunion Homecoming" is underway by Reed School Reunioners, a non-profit organization formed by former students and teachers who attended or taught at Reed Elementary or Reed High School.
