Reverend Kenneth Dailey was born May 14, 1952, in Detroit, MI, to Frank and Ella Dailey, the ninth of twelve children. On Friday morning, July 29, 2022, Kent (as he was affectionately known) transitioned peacefully to his eternal rest with the Heavenly Father.
He received his religious foundation from the St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church at Cornerville, AR, of which he was a life-long member. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age, and was baptized under the pastoral leadership of the Reverend William Sales. In 2015 he accepted the calling to the ministry. He preached his first sermon and was licensed to preach on April 24, 2016. At St. Stephens, he served as Sunday School teacher, song leader, deacon, treasurer, Associate Pastor, and any capacity in which he was required. Kenneth’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a child of The King.
Kenneth received his formative education at the Lincoln Elementary and Lincoln High Schools of Star City. He received his high school diploma in 1969, in the last class of the dual school system in the Star City School District.
Kenneth was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Hardy Rhodes Timber Company of Monticello. He was most recently employed by Henley Farms of Star City as a commercial truck driver.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-nine years, Eloise Dailey. He was also pre-deceased by three brothers, Keith, George Edward and Charles “Chuck” Dailey.
He will always be cherished in the hearts of his wife of four years, Evangelist Scherries Dailey; one daughter, Belinda Dailey-Hudson of Conway, AR; two sons, Gary Darrough of Star City, Kenyon Dailey (Kara) of Pine Bluff; two-step daughters, Briana Beckles and Phenomia Copes of the home; one god-daughter, Briah Robinson of White Hall; six sisters, Evangelist Bertha Sherrer (Elder Billy Sherrer) of Parkdale, AR; Carolyn Brassfield and Betty Brewer (James) of Dumas, AR; Wanda Dailey of Star City, AR; Norma Norman (Lester) and Patricia Williams of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Billy Dailey of Detroit, MI and Eddie Ray Dailey of Flint, MI; six grandchildren, Derrick and DeAndre Baker, Deidre Fitzgerald (Jerry) of Conway, Ceanna, Hayven and Carmen Darrough of Star City; one step grand-daughter, Dalany Boykins of Pine Bluff; and two great-grandchildren, Evette Baker and Jaxon Shaw of Conway.
Public walk-through viewing will be Friday, August 5, 2022, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 2704 Commerce Circle, Pine Bluff, AR. Live streaming of the funeral service will be offered @ YouTube Brown Funeral Home listed under the name of Kenneth Wayne Dailey. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating capacity for the funeral service will be limited to immediate family at Brown Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, August 6, 2022 @ 10:00 a.m. A public graveside service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Lawn at Varner following the service. CDC guidelines will be followed for all services.
