Derwood Wells, 98 of Monticello, Arkansas passed away October 28, 2020, born July 18, 1922 near Dumas at Wells Bayou, Arkansas. The son of Clarence and Willie Carter Wells. His parents, son, Ray (Bubba) Wells, one brother, Lee Russell Wells and three sisters, Bessie Bradley, Zelma Smith, and Beatrice Patoka all preceded him in death.
Mr. Wells was owner of Wells Oil Company, a Christian and served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1947 WWII veteran.
Survivors are his daughter and son in law, Elizabeth (Liz) and Bill Rial of Peachtree City, Georgia, one brother and sister in law, Audrey and Susie Wells of Dumas, Arkansas and two grandchildren, Chris Rial and Lindsey Taylor and four great grandchildren, Sydney Taylor, Leighton Taylor, Cotham Rial and Sawyer Rial.
Graveside memorial services held 11 AM, Friday on October 30, 2020 with Rev. Julius Carter officiating at Tyro Cemetery.
