John Claude Holthoff, SR 74 of Gould, AR passed away, in his home on June 15, 2021. He was born December 14, 1946, in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Claude Hugh Holthoff, JR and Mary Evelyn Horne Holthoff. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Suzanne Holthoff.
John attended Henderson University and graduated with a Master’s in Business Agriculture and a Minor in Math from Mississippi State University. John retired from farming and opened a nursery in Dumas. He was a Horticulturist and was truly knowledgeable about any plant or tree you could imagine. John loved gardening, anything outdoors, he loved planting flowers. When he was not gardening, he loved reading books, cooking, golf and loved playing tennis, he was extremely competitive. John had two cats Tom and Kitty they were his babies and loved the Razorbacks! He always loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. To know John was to know how intelligent he really was. He was like a walking library.
Survivors are one son, John Claude “Jay” Holthoff, JR of Monticello, Arkansas and one sister, Mary Karen “Katie” Holthoff Johnson of Dumas, Arkansas
