Pamela Kay James, born December 4, 1953, at Rhein-Main Air Force Base Frankfurt, Germany, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 3, 2023, at home surrounded by her immediate family in Collierville, Tennessee.
Pam was the daughter of William Andrew Gray and Frances Ann Boren Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents William Gray and Frances Boren Gray, brothers Timothy Gray, and Cecil Boren Jr, also an infant son Donnie James.
Pamela married Edmond W. James on June 5, 1971, in Gould, Arkansas. Edmond and Pamela were together for over 52 years when she passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home in Collierville, Tennessee.
Pamela received her high school diploma from Gould High School after spending most of her high school years attending Donaldson High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Pamela worked in several key positions throughout her career: Assistant to Captain Buck Halsell of District E of the Arkansas State Police, Loan Officer for Merchants and Farmers Bank in Dumas, Arkansas and Director of Loan Operations for National Bank of Commerce located in Memphis, Tennessee.
Pamela is survived by her husband Edmond James, brother Billy Gray; two uncles Benjamin and Brandon Boren, aunt Brenda Gasaway; and two daughters Patricia Kay James and Melissa Kay Durham; six grandchildren: Kyle James Brown, Cole Edmond Brown, Sean Nathaniel Wyatt, Andrew Garner Wyatt, James Donald Wyatt, and Reagan Savannah Brock.
Pam will be remembered as a loving wife, a dedicated mother, and a devoted grandmother. People always felt welcome at Pam and Edmond’s house, and it served as a gathering point for friends and family alike.
A funeral service honoring the life of Pamela James will be held on July 8th at 11:00 am at Griffin Funeral Home located at 109 S. Brasfield Street in Dumas, Arkansas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm on Friday July 7th at Griffin Funeral Home.
