Press Release by Dumas Police Chief Keith Finch:
Recently, the citizens of Dumas experienced an emergency not experienced here in years. The city was flooded by consistent rain for several days.
We at the Dumas Police Department empathize with those who received damages. In order, to help safeguard the citizens of Dumas, I requested and was granted the use of a high water vehicle owned by the Office of Emergency Management.
With this vehicle the Dumas Police Department was able to provide a number of services to citizens affected by the flood waters. Those services included but not limited were: sand bag delivery, water delivery, and medication/prescription delivery.
The police department also assisted numerous stranded motorists throughout the city.
Even though we have limited resources we will attempt to meet any and all emergency needs of the citizens of Dumas.
