Ricky J. Day, 72, of Hot Springs, AR, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2023, in Little Rock, AR. He was born January 27, 1951, in Dumas, AR, to the late Gladys Wynoma McCown Day and Clarence William Day. Ricky was a graduate of McGehee High School.Ricky was a dedicated farmer, nurturing the land and harvesting cotton, corn, and soybeans with unwavering dedication and skill. His hard work and perseverance were evident in the bountiful crops he cultivated, providing for his family and contributing to the community.Beyond the fields, Ricky devoted his heart to his family. As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he shared countless cherished moments with those he held dear. Family was the most important thing in his life, and he showed this by attending his children’s and grandchildren’s events. His love was a beacon of warmth, creating a bond that his loved ones will forever cherish in their hearts.As a Christian, Ricky found solace and strength in his faith. His unwavering belief in God guided him through life's challenges and provided a source of comfort and hope to those around him. He was a testament to the power of faith, leading by example with compassion and kindness.Ricky’s passion for sports was evident in his love for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Whether cheering from the stands or watching games with family and friends, he embodied the true spirit of a dedicated fan. His enthusiasm and loyalty were contagious, leaving a lasting impression on those who shared his passion for the Razorbacks.In addition to farming and sports, Ricky found joy in the tranquility of fishing. Casting his line into the waters, he found peace and serenity in nature's embrace. These moments allowed him to reflect, connect with loved ones, and appreciate the beauty of the world around him.Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Billy Day, Leroy Day, Danny Day, Sr., Raymond Day, and David Day. Survivors include Ricky’s wife, Tanya Day of Hot Springs, AR; brother William Day (Judy) of Winchester, AR; sister Sue Wood (Billy) of Foley, AL; sisters-in-law Linda Day of Winchester, AR, Deborah Day of Dumas, AR and Pat Day of McGehee, AR; children, Brooke Marshall (Todd) of Texarkana, TX; Olivia Ross (Andrew) of Monticello, AR; Trent Day of Hot Springs, AR; and Laura Day-Baker (Frank) of Palm Beach, FL; and grandchildren, John Marshall, Luke Marshall, Anna Ross, Hayes Ross, Olivia Baker, Frank Baker III, and Knox Baker.Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Dumas, AR., with funeral services following at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Byers and Rev. Reuel Cruce officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Cemetery in Winchester, AR. Pallbearers include Todd Marshall, Andrew Ross, Danny Day, Gregg Day, Chuck Day, and Mark Day.
