Attention Parents and Patrons of the Dumas School District
As many of you have heard, there was a threat made on social media to do harm to the Dumas School District. After investigation, it was determined that the threat was a direct result of issues related to the basketball game at Dermott last night. While none of our students were involved in the altercation last night, Dermott School District did takes actions to remove our students from harm.
After receiving notification of the threat, our secondary schools went into immediate lockdown and notified law enforcement. The secondary building principals started the lockdown procedures according to district policy. ALL students are safe and have been safe since the lockdown started this morning. It is the goal of our district to take any threat seriously. We will continue to do so moving forward.
