An inmate at the Newton County Jail was found dead on Monday, April 1, in what appears to be a case of suicide. The incident is currently under investigation, with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) called in to lead the inquiry, as confirmed by the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
