Little Rock Marathon Race Director Mike Garrity said the goal for the Summit is to help create and facilitate best practices and a network of support among organizations in Central Arkansas who plan major events.
“The Marathon is incredibly fortunate to have the partnerships we do with local law enforcement and other agencies around Central Arkansas,” Garrity said. “Now we have the opportunity to share some of those best practices with others in the state to hopefully help make their events as smooth as possible.”
Michael Nishi, the Chief Operating Officer for Chicago Event Management, will headline this year’s Summit. Since 1990, Nishi has served as General Manager for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. With his extensive operational knowledge, Nishi was integral in guiding a local road race of 6,000 runners to a world-class event that saw over 45,700 marathon finishers in 2019.
In addition to Nishi, the Summit will feature presentations on medical staffing, weather, event technology, relationships with local public safety entities and will close with a Question & Answer session with all presenters and experts, including:
