Vehicle crashes into Dollar General store Friday afternoon, no one injured

On Friday afternoon, The Dumas EMS received a call about vehicle crashing into and entering the Dollar General store on December 19, 2024 around 3:41 pm. The Dumas Volunteer Fire Department responded to assist the EMS in case somebody was trapped. When the DVFD arrived there was a Ford truck half way in the store.

The Desha County 911 Central Dispatch is operational and serving community since January 1, 2024. The Dispatch is currently at the McGehee Police Department, but will be moved to the former Southeast Arkansas Law Enforcement Center (SEALEC) building once the renovations are complete. The State of Arkansas donated the facility to Desha County. They hope to move into the facility by June of 2024. (Clarion Photo by Linna Jones)

Desha County starts new year with new consolidated 911 call system

The Desha County 911 Consolidated Central Dispatch officially began taking calls January 1, 2024.
Any calls made to 911 or at the local numbers for the Dumas Police Department, the McGehee Police Department or Sheriff's Department will now be answered at Desha County's new 911 consolidated Central dispatch.
