MCGEHEE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-McGehee (UAM-CTM) held its commencement exercises for the graduating class of 2023 on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Drew Central High School.
Sixty-nine graduates were recognized with the awarding of technical certificates and Associate of Applied Science degrees in the following programs: Business Office Technology, Diesel Technology, Early Childhood Education, General Technology, Health Information Technology, Health Professions, Heavy Equipment Operator, Hospitality Services, Paramedic Technology and Welding Technology. Diplomas will also be presented for completers of the Adult Education program who have earned their GEDs. Paramedic Technology graduates will be pinned and take their paramedic oath during the ceremony.
UAM-CTM will also recognize its Outstanding Alumnus for 2023, Nathan Gladden, a 2003 graduate of the Paramedic program. After graduation from the Paramedic program, Gladden graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, where he was honored as "Outstanding Graduate" when he earned his bachelor's degree and "Top Graduate Scholar" when he earned his master's degree.
Gladden is an advanced practice registered nurse and paramedic who specializes in emergency, trauma and critical care. He has over 23 years of experience in emergency healthcare and holds dual board certifications as an emergency nurse practitioner (ENP-C) and family nurse practitioner (FNP-C). He is also a certified emergency nurse (CEN) and critical care registered nurse (CCRN). Gladden has served on the board of directors for the Arkansas Emergency Nurse Association since 2021. He is currently employed at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.
