The University of Arkansas For Medical Sciences will be hosting their Summer 2024 Ambassador program for Fall 2024 Seniors from June 17- July 26.
The Arkansas Delta Health Career Opportunity Program (HCOP) will be available for a“Rising Senior” who will complete the junior (11th) year of high school in the spring and have senior (12th grade) status in the fall. This program will explore many areas of interest including sonography, dietetics, health administration, medical lab technology, mental/behavioral health, occupation therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, public health, radiography, or respiratory therapy.
Participants can start their career in Health Care Now. The HCOP Summer Ambassador Academy will accept only 35 students who are interested in attending college to pursue a career in healthcare. Participants can spend part of their summer learning and earning money. The 2024 Summer Academy will be hosted by University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Students will have the opportunity to live on campus-housing, food and transportation will be provided and earn $75 per day for participating in the 6 week program.
To qualify, participants must be:
Rising senior in a high school located in the designated HCOP target service area (Delta Region) such as the following counties: Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Chicot, Cleveland, Columbia, Crittenden, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, Lee, Lincoln, Monroe, Ouachita, Phillips, Sevier, St. Francis and Union.
Must be a citizen, non-citizen national of the United States, and individual lawfully admitted for permanent residence to the United States.
No minimum GPA required!
The program will provide selected students, an overview of healthcare careers currently in demand, life and study skills to improve their interactions during and after college and a college experience! Residence life, campus activities and more...
