Francis returned to the Vatican one week ago after spending five weeks in the hospital battling pneumonia. Before he left the hospital he appeared on the balcony there, where he looked very weak and frail, had difficulty speaking and even difficulty moving his arms. But he was clearly not ashamed to be seen that way.
