Man and children being harrassed
Dumas Police Officer Eric Armstrong was dispatched to the Dumas Police Department in reference of someone being harassed Thursday, August 20, 2020.
At the PD, Officer Armstrong spoke with Derrick Morgan who stated that David Spencer keeps threatening to harm him and his kids. Morgan also stated that Diane Robinson rides by his house everyday threatening to turn him in for fake charges of rape.
Morgan further stated that she will not stay away from his house.
Officer Armstrong advised Morgan to next time call the police department and an officer will come and help the situation. Morgan was also advised where and how to obtain an affidavit for harassment.
Theft of Property, Missing Debit Card
Dumas Police Officer Tonianne Wernicke was at Cash's Travel Plaza Thursday, August 20, 2020 at approximately 9:30 AM. Officer Wernicke was approached by Brittany Russell who stated sh left her debit card by the register around 5:30 PM that day.
When she asked the employees if they located a debit card, she was advised there were none turned in.
Christina Phillips looked at camera footage. Russell is seen leaving her card on the right side of the front register at 5:37AM. At 6:18 AM, a white male identified as Karlis Thor Shelby is seen picking up the card. Shelby pays for his things and uses his card but walks out with Russell's card in hand.
Shelby enters a white truck and the truck pulls out to the right corner of the back parking lot where there is no more footage.
Shelby was located North of town working on the Highway. He stated he did pick up the card but he did not know where it went from there. He stated he must have threw it on the ground or left it somewhere in the store.
The store was searched as well as the parking lot but Russell's card was not found. Russell state she canceled the card. She also stated there were no transactions made at this time.
Shelby still states that he does not have Russell's card at all.
Russell contacted Officer Wernicke shortly there after and stated her card had been used for a transaction at Cash's at 6:42AM for $15.42. Shelby was not seen on the cameras coming in abnd there was no record in file at the store of someone making a purchase with the card. No purchase was found on record for that amount.
Officer Wernicke advised her to get a copy of her bank statement. She was also advised of the Affidavit Process for Theft of Property and Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card.
Theft of Property
On Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at approximately 5:45AM Linda Weatherford stated she was about to leave for work and went to her vehicle. She found the driver's door was not closed. She stated the other doors were locked and closed bu the driver's side door was slightly ajar.
Weatherford stated someone had definitely gone through her vehicle. There were things scattered all over the passengers side but they did not go through the back.
Doug Weatherford stated his work truck was parked right next to Linda's vehicle but it wasn't tampered with. Linda stated she was missing approximately $25 in change and bills, Apple Ear Buds, a silver necklace with clear beads spread around the chain ($150.00) and earrings ($100.00). She stated she didn't know who did this.
Officer Wernicke advised Linda a report would be on file and the Officer advised her of the Affidavit Process. The Officer also advised her she would contact the businesses by her residence and look at any security footage of her home. CID Finch was notified of the incident.
Theft of Motor Fuel
At approximately 11:11AM, Dumas Police Officer Kristy Freeman was dispatched to Dumas Mart for a gas drive off. Upon arrival, Officer Freeman spoke with Havpreef Singh who stated that two white males in a white Chevrolet pickup had driven off with $50.72 worth of gas.
Upon further investigation Officer Freeman found that the truck had a razor back tag but was unable to see the rest of the numbers or letters clearly on the cameras that Dumas Mart had.
They were advised a report would be on file.
Theft of Motor Fuel
Dumas Police Officer Alberto Garcia was dispatched to Cash's Travel Plaza Saturday, August 15, 2020 at approximately 2:46 PM concerning a theft of motor fuel.
Officer Garcia spoke with the cashier who gave a description of the vehicle and amount of fuel money taken. The cashier told Officer Garcia that $19.48 worth of fuel was taken. She also said it was an early model silver Chevrolet Silverado and it headed south on Highway 65.
Stolen Gun
Dumas Police Officer Kristy Freeman was dispatched to the Dumas Police Department to take a report of a stolen gun Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at approximately 4:29PM.
Officer Freeman spoke with Abrasia Jones who stated her handgun was stolen from her home. It was a Glock 17 Gen 5 9mm all black and gave the officer the serial number #PA1758203.
Jones also said that she did not know who would have taken it. She was advised that ai would be put into ACIC as a stolen weapon and if located she would be notified.
