This week, the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee approved two interim studies regarding tax incentives.
The first interim study proposal approved directs the committee to study the sales and use tax exemptions for farm machinery and equipment and the potential use of sales and use tax exemption cards.

Supreme Court races where the action is

Two of the most interesting races in Arkansas’ party primaries March 5 will be the nonpartisan ones for Arkansas Supreme Court justice.
In one, four candidates, including three current justices, are seeking to be chief justice. In the other, a current justice is seeking to move into another seat.

Life's a Garden: No plans to go to Shangri-La

The cooler temperatures have brought back a memory for me that I can’t help but think about every time the cold moves in. When I was courting Mimi, I used to tell her stories about that crazy trip to northern India. We went on lots of hikes in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and a 110-mile loop around Banff and Canada.
