Public Intoxication – Drinking in Public
Dumas Police Department Officers Alan Hernandez and Wayna Green were dispatched to South Peach Street, Sunday, October 10, 2021 at approximately 1:32 AM, regarding a male walking to resident's houses and knocking on their doors.
Upon arrival, Officer Hernandez observed a tall black male wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans walking. The male subject approached Hernandez and began talking.
During the conversation, the officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the subjects breath. Officer Hernandez asked the man for his name and he stated, “Tyrone Ward.”
Mr. Ward (46) stated that he was at his mother's house on S. Peach Street.
Hernandez asked Ward to walk me to his mother's house where the officers made contact with Ward's mother, Linda Ward. She stated that Ward does not live there and that he has been going around knocking on resident's doors. Ms. Ward stated that Tyrone was drinking. Mr. Ward did state he was drinking.
Officer Hernandez then placed Mr. Ward under arrest for Public Intoxication and transported him to the Dumas City Jail where he was booked in.
Unauthorized Use Of A Vehicle
Dumas Police Department Sgt. Crystal Martin and Officer Raydon Findley responded to a call about a stolen vehicle Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Upon arrival, the officers were met by Ms. Pertuis who informed them that her cousin, Mr.Jacob Alexander Derry (19) had taken her vehicle without her permission. Ms. Pertuis did tell the officer she had left the keys in the vehicle. When she walked outside that morning her car was gone.
Ms. Pertuis also informed the officers that there was $180 dollars in the vehicle as well.
The officers advised Ms. Pertuis her report will be filed at the Dumas Police Department and also advised her how to obtain an affidavit.
Fleeing
Dumas Police Department Sgt. Crystal Martin and Officer Raydon Findley were doing routine patrol when they made contact with two vehicles in Magnolia Street Park after dark.
One vehicle was a white Crown Victoria and the second vehicle was a red pick-up truck.
Officer Findley and Sgt. Martin got out of their patrol car and made contact with four males who were identified as Steven Glover Jr., Jett Paquin, Reontravae Sims and Gayland Reed.
All subjects stated they were just “talking” with each other.
Upon identifying Mr. Reed, Sgt, Martin knew he had felony warrants. As Martin was about to place Mr. Reed under arrest, Mr. Reed took off running south on Magnolia then went westbound adjacent to a house into their backyard where Sgt. Martin lost sight of him.
Mr. Reed left his vehicle behind in the park. Mr. Reed's vehicle a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria, was towed from the city's park and impounded.
An affidavit warrant is in process for Fleeing an Officer on foot.
Terroristic Threatening
Dumas Police Department Sgt. Crystal Martin and Officer Raydon Findley responded to a call, Sunday, October 10, 2021 at approximately 9:40 AM, about someone receiving threatening messages.
The officers made contact with Ms. Mckinzie Denise French who showed the officers the messages she had received on Facebook from Ms. Tiffany Shields who lived a few doors down from her.
Sgt. Martin attempted to make contact with Ms. Shields but was unsuccessful.
The Officers advised Mr. French that a report would be filed at the Dumas Police Department. Ms. French was advised on how to obtain an affidavit.
