The Dumas Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their “Christmas Around The World” parade Monday, December 4, 2023.
In case of rain, the parade will be postponed to Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Chairperson is Christina Rainy. Contact the Chamber of Commerce for more information. For entry rules pick up a paper copy of the entry form from the Chamber of Commerce.
The overall grand prizes include $100 for the first place divisions in float, vehicle, ATV/SXS, Walking and Other. The parade will be followed by a Christmas Tree Lighting to be held at the Delta Memorial Hospital. Visitors can have cookies and hot chocolate with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The lighting is sponsored by the Delta Memorial Auxiliary to benefit Auxiliary Scholarships.
Vehicle and float line up will begin at 5 pm on the gravel lot behind the Dumas Middle School. All vehicle must enter from East Bowles Street. There will be no entry from Pickens Street.
Walking entries will line-up on the side of the DMS Gill Gym on the grassy area and will be directed into the parade route. ATV, SXS, antique cars, and etc. will have to off load off trailers at another location and enter the parking lot from East Bowles Street.
again onto Choctaw Street and disband at the corner of College and Choctaw (at Central Elementary).
