I am your current councilman for Ward 4 Position 2. I am seeking re-election in November 2022 to the same position. During the last four years as a council member, I have represented the concerns of all citizens in Dumas not just in my ward. I am genuinely concerned for the total welfare of all leaders, industries, businesses, and citizens of this community. As well as how the supportive relationship of the surrounding towns and communities affect this city.
During my first four years on the council, my added contributions to this community have been as a volunteer fireman, a Dumas Planning Committee member, and an employee of the Dumas School District in the maintenance & electrical, and transportation departments.
My city council activities include but are not limited to (1) park and recreation committee where I met with the area representative from the Parks, Tourism, and Heritage Commission several times to discuss renovation plans for Magnolia Street and Memorial Parks; (2) new city maintenance building committee chair; (3) participate with the Street Mentors of Dumas; and (4) Boys and Girls Club Committee.
As a citizen, I have volunteered many hours assisting with activities sponsored by different service organizations, city departments, churches, and other community groups.
I am a past resident of Arkansas City. I moved to Dumas in 1988, and became active in the community. I own Daniels Construction and is a minister at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Sunday School Superintendent. On occasion, assists Dumas Housing Authority.
I believe in the people of Dumas and desire to continue to serve the community in the leadership role as councilman to help promote continued growth and progress. Many citizens already know I am easy to talk to and willing to help with issues even if work is involved.
