The Desha County Election Commission met to discuss and set poll workers ahead of Tuesday's Election at the Dumas Community Center Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Desha County Election Commissioner, Desha County Coordinator Don Wesson, and Commissioners Renee Baxter and Carsel Mathis reviewed and confirmed workers for Tuesday after several workers called saying they would not be available. The workers included current and past poll workers and the use of Desha County high school students. A law change Arkansas Code 1987 (2023), Title 7 Elections.... allows high school students to earn community service hours at the polls as long as they have adult supervision if under 18 years old.
